You can lock the signature fields to ensure that a participant or signatory discusses the study with site personnel before signing (virtually or in person). Once the participant or signatory is well-informed about the study and is prepared to sign, you can generate an unlock code to open the signature fields.

1. Locate the document in Documents > Library or Studies > Select the study > Consent Forms.
2. Select Edit eConsent from the Document Actions menu (…).
3. Select Document Settings or Settings from the right panel.
4. Turn on the Requires Unlock Code to Sign toggle.
