Change to Monitor/External User

Who can complete this task?
  • Administrators

Administrators can switch a user’s type between Staff and Monitor/External User. The user will retain access to each of their assigned sites and studies. A notification is sent when the change is processed, and the user’s access and permissions can be updated if needed.

Change Staff to Monitor/External User

  1. Access Administration > Staff.
  2. Select the record.
  3. Select Change to Monitor/External User from the Actions menu (…).
    • Some menus may include the Change Type action; this is not the preferred action. Select Change to Monitor/External User.
  4. Select Continue.
