January 26, 2021 | Release Number: 20R3.2.06

Legacy Source Documents

This release changes the way you up-version any source documents that were created before January 1, 2021. The Create Draft action is no longer available for these documents. Instead, change the state of the legacy document to Superseded. Then, use the Make a Copy action or upload a new document to create the new version.

January 20, 2021 | Release Number: 20R3.2.05

Safety Documents for Connected Studies

For sites working on a connected study, this release streamlines how you receive safety notifications from a sponsor or CRO. In addition, SiteVault can automatically confirm the receipt of safety documents.

Study Tracking

This release improves your ability to track a study, including the addition of a new study lifecycle state for studies that are active but not recruiting and a Notes field for sharing any additional information among the study team.

Self-Service Review Process for Source and Regulatory Documents

  • Sites no longer need to take the step of sending you documents for review.
  • Instead, you can review all source and regulatory documents as soon as they are marked Current, Final, or Approved for Use by the site team.
  • To see what is available for your review, use the Saved View "Ready for Monitor Review" under the Documents > Library tab.
  • To indicate you have completed review of a document, use the the document's Actions menu and select the appropriate option (Passed Review or Review Issues Found) based on the outcome of your review.

The 2-minute video below demonstrates the new process in its entirety:

For additional Help content about the review process, see the Monitors - Reviewing Documents page.
Note that any Source Review workflows (old process) that had not been completed as of January 1 have been cancelled by Veeva Support. The documents in these workflows are now available to review using the new self-service review process.
