Editing Survey Responses (Data Changes)

Note Veeva ePRO is only available to sites whose sponsors are using Veeva ePRO in Clinical Operations.

When to Edit a Survey Response

If it has come to your attention that a response on a completed survey is inaccurate, you can access and update a survey (source data) in the following circumstances:

  • A survey respondent indicates they made a mistake on a survey response.
  • You review a site survey and identify a mistake has been made.

Overview

  • Site users assigned to the study can edit survey responses.
  • Edits and scoring updates apply immediately upon submission.
  • All edits require the user to provide a reason for the change.
  • Survey audit trails capture the changed information, reason for change, user who completed the change, and the timestamp of the change.
  • All survey versions and their related changes are available for review.

Edit a Completed Survey

To edit survey responses, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the completed survey.
  2. Select Start Data Change from the Actions menu (…) in the survey header.
  3. Edit the survey responses as needed.
  4. Select Confirm in the survey header.
  5. Review the summary of changes for accuracy.
  6. Complete each Reason for Change field.
  7. Select Submit.
  8. Confirm your intent to apply a change to the survey response data by selecting Continue.

View Survey History

To view a survey’s history, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the completed survey.
  2. Select View History from the Actions menu (…) in the survey header.
  3. Scroll through survey versions using the arrows in the survey header.
  4. Select View Changes from the Actions menu (…) to review the summary of changes applied to the selected survey.
  5. Select the X to close changes and the Close button to exit the History view.
