Granting Monitor Access

Learn how to grant a monitor access to your site, studies, and documents by watching the video or following the step-by-step instructions below.

Overview

The process for granting a monitor, CRA, or auditor access to your documents uses the following general steps:

  1. Create a SiteVault user profile for the monitor, CRA, or auditor.
  2. Assign the user to your study.
  3. Ensure that the documents are in their final or steady state.

Watch the video or follow the step-by-step instructions below to learn more.

Granting Access to SiteVault

Note Only SiteVault users with the Site Administrator system role can complete the steps in this section.

Follow the steps in the help for Creating Users to grant a monitor, CRA, or auditor access to SiteVault. In the step for system access and permissions, select the External User option for the research organization and the External (Sponsor, CRO, Auditor, Inspector) option for the site or sites. If an external user has an existing Vault account, the site administrator should communicate to the new user that they have been added to SiteVault as a system-generated welcome email or notification will not be sent.

Once added to SiteVault, the external user can access the system but cannot view any data or documents until you grant them access to a study. See the sections below for more information.

Granting Access to Studies

Note Only SiteVault users with the Site Administrator system role can complete the steps in this section.

Follow the steps in the help for Monitor & Auditor Assignments to grant a monitor, CRA, or auditor access to a study.

Once added to a study, the external user can view and complete remote monitoring on documents that are in the approved or steady state. See the section below for more information.

Granting Access to Documents

After being granted access to the site and study, only documents that are in their steady state (major version documents such as 1.0 or 2.0) can be viewed by the external user. See the following help pages for more information on moving documents to their steady states:
