# Associate a Participant with a Patient

**Who can complete this task?**
- Administrators & Site Staff with the Patient & Participant Management Extended Permission

You can associate a new or existing patient profile with a new or existing study participant record.

Note Once a study participant is invited to use MyVeeva for Patients (such as when you send them an eConsent form or share a study document), you can’t associate the study participant with a different patient.

1. Navigate to **Studies**.
2. Select a study.
3. Select **Participants**.
4. Select a Participant.
5. Select **View Participant Details**.
6. Select **+ Link Patient**.
7. Select one of the following options: 
  - To associate the participant with an existing patient, **select** from the Browse Patients list and **save**.
  - To associate the participant with a new patient, select **Create New Patient**. 
    - Complete the required and any additional fields to create the patient.
    - Select **Save**.
